Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vance County). They strolled past the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 66-51. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Kayden Roberts had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harold Timberlake, IV, who posted ten points and three steals.

Vance County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Durham School of the Arts' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Craig Griffin, who had 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Tony McDonald was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points.

Vance County's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Durham School of the Arts, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Vance County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-56 victory against Graham on the 20th. As for Durham School of the Arts, they will challenge South Granville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Granville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.1 points per game this season.
