Softball Recap: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Laton Mustangs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kern Valley). Everything went their way against the Laton Mustangs on Tuesday as the Kern Valley Broncs made off with a 29-3 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Broncs with their most commanding win of the season.
Jade Montes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Montes was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and seven RBI. Montes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Kern Valley got a massive performance out of Sam Wyly, who scored six runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, Wyly is now averaging an impressive 2.7 runs per game. Ava Elliott was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.
Kern Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laton only posted an OBP of .348.
