Softball Recap: Lake Dallas' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

The matchup between Lake Dallas and Panther Creek on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Lake Dallas Falcons fell just short of the Panther Creek Panthers by a score of 11-10. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Presley Prewitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lake Dallas' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Panther Creek, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Dallas will venture away from home to square off against Krum at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Krum's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Lake Dallas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Panther Creek, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Panther Creek Panthers duke it out with Celina Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. They are strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
