Basketball Game Preview: Christiansburg Blue Demons vs. Radford Bobcats

The Christiansburg Blue Demons will take on the Radford Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Christiansburg was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Cave Spring.

Meanwhile, Radford's game on Thursday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 58-48 to Alleghany. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Radford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kearson Carter posted 30 points and five assists. Carter's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Raelin Adams was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Radford now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Christiansburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Everything went Christiansburg's way against Radford in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Christiansburg made off with a 62-40 victory. Does Christiansburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Radford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
