Basketball Game Preview: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Memorial Red Devils

Jackson-Milton is 3-0 against Memorial since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Jackson-Milton Bluejays will welcome the Memorial Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Jackson-Milton and three for Memorial.

Jackson-Milton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mineral Ridge on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jackson-Milton was outmatched by Mineral Ridge and fell 60-27. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

Despite the defeat, Jackson-Milton had strong showings from Amani Yasin, who posted 18 points, and Emma Hunt, who had three points and 11 boards. Yasin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against Lowellville on Friday and fell 39-26.

Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Jackson-Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Jackson-Milton strolled past Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 47-28. Will Jackson-Milton repeat their success, or does Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
