Baseball Preview: Piute Meets Bryce Valley

The Piute Thunderbirds will square off against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Bryce Valley has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Coming off a road loss, Piute was happy to be home on Wednesday where their crowd gave them all the motivation they needed. They came out on top against Wayne by a score of 5-1.

Frank Henry was excellent, going 2-for-3 while posting 2 stolen bases, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. The two runs were his most since August 14th, when he scored two vs. Tintic.

Meanwhile, while it was Bryce Valley who put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, it was Valley who put up more. The Mustangs lost 16-5 to the Buffalos.

Piute has now won nine of their last 11 games at home. That gives them a 9-4 record this season. As for Bryce Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
