Softball Recap: Mark Morris Takes a Loss

Mark Morris and Port Angeles squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mark Morris had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 1-0.

Makenzie Henthorn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Mark Morris' defeat dropped their record down to 25-2. As for Port Angeles, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-2-1.

Mark Morris does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port Angeles, they will face off against Aberdeen at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Roughriders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
