Basketball Recap: Austin Extends Winning Streak to Three

Austin entered their tilt with Round Rock Westwood on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Round Rock Westwood Warriors 53-34. Given the Maroons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Warriors are ranked 619th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Austin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Foley Anderson, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Young, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

Austin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Round Rock Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Austin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-40 win against Pflugerville on the 28th. As for Round Rock Westwood, they will face off against Round Rock at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
