Softball Recap: Central's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak at Home

Central had lost 11 games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 8-14 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lia Moreno was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Lozano, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

As for Palo Verde Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

On Palo Verde Valley's side, Arianna Lee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Central has already played their next game (against Holtville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Palo Verde Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
