Baseball Recap: Oakville Comes Up Short

Oakville's last matchup with Naselle could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Acorns came up short against the Comets, falling 13-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Acorns were not able to get on the board.

Oakville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koner Burnett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Burnett has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Oakville dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Naselle, they, and Wahkiakum. As for the Comets, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Oakville will challenge Ocosta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Naselle, they will take on Wahkiakum at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mules have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
