Softball Recap: Battle Ground Academy Has No Trouble Against Providence Christian Academy

Battle Ground Academy won the last time they faced Providence Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the LIONS. Considering the Wildcats have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Corbett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lauren Atkins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Battle Ground Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .176.

The victory got Battle Ground Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Battle Ground Academy will face off against Lawson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Columbia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
