Meridian extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Shepherd Bluejays. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Shepherd, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs.

For Shepherd's part, Carli Dubois was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise McDonald, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will welcome St. Louis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shepherd, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Gladwin at 4:00 p.m.
