Basketball Recap: Nolen Westfall Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Enterprise

After losing to Enterprise the last time they met, Soquel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Soquel Knights walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Enterprise Hornets on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Soquel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolen Westfall led the charge by going 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Nico Ramirez was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Soquel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Enterprise lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wes Ramirez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Alijah Collins, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

The win got Soquel back to even at 4-4. As for Enterprise, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

Soquel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-45 defeat against Pacific Grove on the 20th. As for Enterprise, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-49 victory against Bear River on the 19th.
