Baseball Recap: Bath County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Parry McCluer last Tuesday, Bath County came back down to earth. The Chargers lost 22-12 to the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

O Perdue made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bath County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was W Campbell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bath County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Eastern Montgomery, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1.

Looking ahead, Bath County will challenge Narrows at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Waves will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastern Montgomery, they will face off against Parry McCluer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Fighting Blues at the right time seeing as the Fighting Blues are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
