Lincoln had won seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it eight. They walked away with a 23-12 win over the Madison County Cowboys. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Taylor Jacobs Jr threw for 100 yards and one TD while completing 72.2% of his passes. Trevor Jacobs was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Jayden Wells rushed for 37 yards.

As for Madison County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Despite 154 more yards than Lincoln, the Cowboys couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Madison County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Na'Quez Christian, who rushed for 108 yards and one score on only 15 carries, and Lj Crumity, who gained 79 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Lincoln will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Nease at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Madison County, they will host Suwannee at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
