Hesperia came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Burroughs Burros. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-102) Hesperia actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 28-26, 19-25, 15-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Hesperia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Ventroni out in front who had 20 digs and two aces. Ventroni has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Deziree Mendoza, who had 18 digs and two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Burroughs lost, don't look at Lillah O'Grady. Despite the final result, she had 18 digs and three aces.

Hesperia's record now sits at 23-1. As for Burroughs, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-7.
