Basketball Recap: Ahmad Crumity's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shorecrest Prep over Northeast

It was fun while it lasted, but Shorecrest Prep's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell just short of the Northeast Vikings by a score of 54-52. The Chargers were probably out for revenge after losing 64-59 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ahmad Crumity, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nickolas Bearden, who put up 14 points.

Northeast got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Walter Brown out in front who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Erik Davis Jr, who had nine points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shorecrest Prep fell to 3-1. As for Northeast, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Shorecrest Prep will take on Cambridge Christian in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Northeast and Countryside will compete for holiday cheer at 7:45 p.m. on December 20th. Northeast is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season.
