Football Recap: Fresno Christian Starts off Right with Win over Avalon

Fresno Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the Avalon Lancers to the tune of 49-16. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 28-point advantage.

Fresno Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Asatrian out in front who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also caught one score. Those 117 rushing yards gave Asatrian a new career-high. Bryce Smith was in the mix too, providing Fresno Christian with two TDs.

Looking ahead, Fresno Christian will host Sage Hill at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Avalon, they will venture away from home to challenge Santa Clarita Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
