Basketball Game Preview: Milton-Union Bulldogs vs. Northridge Polar Bears

Milton-Union is 8-2 against Northridge since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Milton-Union Bulldogs will host the Northridge Polar Bears at 12:30 p.m.

Milton-Union is headed into Saturday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-31 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethel. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly four points.

Despite their loss, Milton-Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Addi Case, who posted 16 points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those 16 points gave Case a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Brumbaugh, who put up 13 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Northridge came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 68-49. Given the Polar Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Eagles are ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northridge's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Milton-Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
