Recap: Suttons Bay Norsemen vs. Glen Lake Lakers
The Suttons Bay Norsemen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 70-23 defeat at the hands of Glen Lake. Suttons Bay was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.
Eleanor Valkner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Glen Lake, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 23 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valkner has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Anderson, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Suttons Bay's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Glen Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suttons Bay will square off against Brethren at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Brethren presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Suttons Bay in Michigan (Brethren is ranked 173rd, while Suttons Bay is ranked 556th). Glen Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
