Football Recap: McCamey Comes Up Short

McCamey lost against Reagan County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Badgers took a hard 32-13 fall against the Owls. Badgers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Owls since Friday.

Kaden Galindo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Reagan County, picking up 128 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Those 128 receiving yards gave Galindo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marquis Vargas, who threw for 218 yards and two TDs.

This is the second loss in a row for McCamey and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Reagan County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, McCamey is taking a road trip to challenge Sonora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reagan County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Iraan at 7:00 p.m. The Braves' defense has only allowed 10.2 points per game this season, so the Owls' offense will have their work cut out for them.
