With a playoff win on the line, Tolman rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-43 win over the East Providence Townies. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Tolman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Borden, who went 11-for-13 en route to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Borden a new career-high in shooting accuracy (85%). John Hilaire was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points along with seven assists and five boards.
Tolman's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for East Providence, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Coming up, Tolman will take on La Salle Academy on Friday. Tolman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully La Salle Academy likes a good challenge. East Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
