Soccer Game Preview: Healdsburg vs. Santa Rosa

The Healdsburg Greyhounds will head out to face off against the Santa Rosa Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Rosa took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Healdsburg, who comes in off a win.

If Santa Rosa heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Healdsburg took over last week. Healdsburg's defense stepped up to hand Analy a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The result kept the Greyhounds happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 7th.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa took on Analy on Tuesday. Santa Rosa came up short against Analy, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 889th, while the Tigers are ranked 387th).

Santa Rosa dropped their record down to 2-7-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Healdsburg, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-0-2 and their overall record up to 7-4-4.

Healdsburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Rosa in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Healdsburg since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
