On the hitting side, Francisco Rivero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tarrell Reid was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Canyon del Oro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marana only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Maricopa's offense. They fell 5-0 to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Thursday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Canyon del Oro pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Maricopa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Maricopa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Canyon del Oro has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Maricopa, though, as they've only averaged .315. Will they be able to contain Canyon del Oro's hitters?
