Basketball Recap: First Academy Drops Season-High Score on Faith Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Academy). They came out on top against the Faith Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 64-51 on Friday. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 71-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

First Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan James out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. What's more, James also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Rylan Peacock was another key player, going 7-for-17 en route to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hagen Williams posted 21 points. Another player making a difference was Samuel DeLaigle, who put up nine points.

First Academy pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Faith Christian Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Faith Christian Academy will challenge Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles face off against Mead Hall Episcopal School, they'll take on First Academy again at 5:30 p.m. on December 5.
