Softball Recap: LaPoynor Comes Up Short

LaPoynor has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.94 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-3 to the Frankston Indians. The Flyers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

LaPoynor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Lovett, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, Lovett is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

LaPoynor's record is now 9-7. As for Frankston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaPoynor will host Trinidad at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaPoynor's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Trinidad's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Frankston, they will challenge Kerens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
