Baseball Game Preview: Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans vs. Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars

The Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans are taking a road trip to take on the Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Taft School hit Loomis Chaffee School with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pelicans fell just short of the Big Red by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Choate Rosemary Hall School waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Big Green with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wild Boars, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Shane McKenna tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianni Vora, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Tam, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Choate Rosemary Hall School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Choate Rosemary Hall School now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Loomis Chaffee School, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Loomis Chaffee School beat Choate Rosemary Hall School 3-0 when the teams last played on April 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pelicans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
