After flying high against Center two weeks ago, North Fork came back down to earth. The North Fork Miners lost 43-20 to the Monte Vista Pirates on Friday. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2021.

Despite the loss, North Fork still got an impressive performance from Derick Sievertsen, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Sievertsen a new career-high in rushing yards.
