Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Linden

Linden had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Summerville Bears. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Olivia Fears was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Audrey Pitt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Fears wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

The win got Linden back to even at 5-5. As for Summerville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Linden is set to face off against their familiar foe Riverbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Summerville will challenge rival Bret Harte at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
