Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paynesville). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over the Melrose Dutchmen on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Paynesville's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Melrose, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Paynesville will host Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paynesville is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change. As for Melrose, they will venture away from home to take on Sauk Centre at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sauk Centre knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Melrose likes a good challenge.
