After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Watauga, Freedom was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Patton Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Panthers back in February, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.
ALEX WALL looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Freedom's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was WILLIAM RUSS, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave RUSS a new career-high. Another was BROOKS SNIPES, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Freedom's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Patton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
Coming up, Freedom will host St. Stephens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patton, they will take on McDowell at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
