Softball Recap: Alonso's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Alonso had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Leto Falcons. Considering the Ravens have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Laine Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jolie Perillo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Alonso was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive games.

Alonso now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Leto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Alonso will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Gaither is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Leto, they will square off against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give Spoto their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
