Football Recap: Muleshoe Sets Scoring Season-High Against Clyde

Muleshoe scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 54-49 to the Clyde Bulldogs. The Mules' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Muleshoe still got an impressive performance from Josue Sigala, who rushed for 226 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 105 yards and one touchdown on only nine passes. Sigala's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season. Noah Hernandez was another key player, picking up 156 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Muleshoe now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Clyde, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Muleshoe will face off against Dalhart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mules will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Clyde, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
