Volleyball Recap: Houston Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Houston had won seven straight at home, but on Monday they bumped up to 23-13 to make it eight. They put the hurt on the Northpoint Christian Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

Houston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lindsey Baker out in front who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Baker has posted since September 6th.

They weren't the only good servers: Houston was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northpoint Christian only served three.

As for Northpoint Christian, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since October 22, 2024.

Northpoint Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Skylar Morris and Valerie Hurdle. Morris had 14 digs and two assists, while Hurdle had nine digs, two aces, and one block. With that strong performance, Morris is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Houston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against White Station on the 30th. As for Northpoint Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Lewisburg on the 30th.
