Baseball Recap: Hobgood Charter Takes a Loss

Hobgood Charter fell victim to Rocky Mount and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gryphons. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hobgood Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Rocky Mount, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-12.

Hobgood Charter and Rocky Mount could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 319th) will meet Bear Grass Charter (ranked 59th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rocky Mount will square off against Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (362 vs. 160).
