Football Recap: Granite Bay Starts off Right with Win over Rio Americano

Granite Bay gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the Rio Americano Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-17 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-3.

Isaiah Ene went supernova, rushing for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. James Pease got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Granite Bay didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rio Americano to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. The Grizzlies weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 81.8%.

Granite Bay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Darnell Turner and Pease. Turner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Coming up, Granite Bay will head out on the road to take on Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Americano, they will challenge Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
