Softball Recap: Youngker Takes a Loss

Youngker lost against Buckeye last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Roughriders came up short against the Hawks, falling 17-7. The Roughriders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Samantha Salgado Beltran was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Everly Sandoval was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Youngker's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Buckeye, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Youngker will square off against Desert Edge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Roughriders are facing the Scorpions at the right time seeing as the Scorpions are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Buckeye, they will face off against Verrado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vipers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
