Baseball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway lost against Mariner back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Tritons, falling 14-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacob Hardman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Anthony Medina was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Mariner, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway will take on Ida Baker at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Mariner, they will welcome Cape Coral at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tritons are facing the Seahawks at the right time seeing as the Seahawks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
