Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Eagles vs. St. Joseph Jayhawks

American Leadership Academy is 3-0 against St. Joseph since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The American Leadership Academy Eagles will take on the St. Joseph Jayhawks at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (American Leadership Academy has three straight victories, St. Joseph has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Wednesday, American Leadership Academy beat Rowland Hall 57-47.

Kannon Huntsman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Kobe Ross was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Draper APA and fell 73-39. The Jayhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.

American Leadership Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for American Leadership Academy against St. Joseph in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for American Leadership Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
