Volleyball Game Preview: Santa Teresa Desert Warriors vs. Tularosa Wildcats

The Santa Teresa Desert Warriors will take on the Tularosa Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Teresa will be strutting in after a victory while Tularosa will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Santa Teresa made easy work of Loretto and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Desert Warriors in their matchups with the Angels: they've now won four in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Santa Teresa took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Tularosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hot Springs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 14-25, 25-15.

Santa Teresa will have to keep a close watch on Jaleria Caje and KiAndra Legarde, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tularosa's prior game. Caje had six kills and two aces, while Legarde had one block.

Santa Teresa's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Tularosa, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 9-4.

Everything went Santa Teresa's way against Tularosa when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Santa Teresa made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Desert Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
