Basketball Recap: Noah Parker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Stanwood

There's no place like home for Everett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past the Stanwood Spartans with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-46. The Seagulls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Everett's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Parker, who went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Parker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Noah Owens was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Everett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Edlund, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Williams, who posted six points along with seven assists and five boards.

Everett's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Stanwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Everett and Stanwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Everett will face off against Monroe at 8:00 p.m. on Friday down 124 places (174 vs. 50). Meanwhile, Stanwood (ranked 223rd) will meet Marysville Getchell (ranked 70th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
