Basketball Game Preview: Shannon Red Raiders vs. Itawamba Agricultural Indians

The Shannon Red Raiders will square off against the Itawamba Agricultural Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Shannon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-51 to Mooreville. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Itawamba Agricultural, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Ripley 54-20. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Tigers are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Itawamba Agricultural has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Shannon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
