Volleyball Recap: New Canaan Beats Westhill for Their Fifth Straight Win

New Canaan had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Westhill Vikings. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.

While New Canaan won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-19, 25-22.

Nolan McLaughlin paced New Canaan's offense, picking up 12 kills. McLaughlin got some help from Dylan Ho and his 26 assists. Ho also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with John Baluyut, racking up two apiece.

New Canaan's record is now 7-2. As for Westhill, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. New Canaan is set to take on their familiar foe Greenwich at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Westhill will face off against rival Ludlowe at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
