Preview: Autaugaville Eagles vs. Dallas County Hornets
Autaugaville is 4-0 against Dallas County since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Autaugaville Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Dallas County Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Autaugaville couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 68-40 loss at the hands of Prattville Christian Academy back in November. Autaugaville has not had much luck with Prattville Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Dallas County came up short against Marion on Friday and fell 56-49. Dallas County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joshua Davis III , who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. He scored a full 32.7% of Dallas County's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zephaniah Shanks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Autaugaville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Dallas County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Autaugaville strolled past Dallas County when the teams last played back in January by a score of 57-41. Will Autaugaville repeat their success, or does Dallas County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
