Softball Recap: Reedy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockwall, Reedy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Wakeland Wolverines 9-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Malaina Boyst looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Sierra Petersdorf was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Kulp, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Reedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Reedy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-9. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.33 hits in those games compared to only 4.9 in the others. As for Wakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Reedy is taking a road trip to take on Creekview at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakeland, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against The Colony at 6:45 p.m. Wakeland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
