Baseball Recap: Gateway Charter Comes Up Short

Gateway Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-4 to the Melbourne Bulldogs.

Christopher Marrero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Daniel Mendez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Gateway Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Melbourne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Gateway Charter will be playing at home against Master's Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Master's Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Gateway Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Melbourne, they have already played their next game, a 9-4 loss against IMG Academy Royal on the 18th.
