Softball Recap: Pine Prairie Gets the Win

While Pine Prairie put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mamou. The Panthers came out on top against the Demons by a score of 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Kynnedi Ware, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Mamou off the board. Ware has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sydney Fontenot was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ella Fontenot, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Pine Prairie's record now sits at 27-3. As for Mamou, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-14-1.

Coming up, Pine Prairie will host Anacoco at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mamou will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' match: after the Panthers faces off against the Indians, they'll take on Mamou again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
