Walt Whitman won the last time they faced William Floyd and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats won by a run and slipped past the Colonials 4-3. The four-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory made it two in a row for Walt Whitman and bumps their season record up to 5-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for William Floyd, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Walt Whitman has already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against Shoreham-Wading River on the 14th. As for William Floyd, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brentwood at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
