Basketball Recap: Susitna Valley Comes Up Short

Susitna Valley entered their match against Unalakleet on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Susitna Valley Rams were beaten by the Unalakleet Wolfpack 58-29. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wolfpack are ranked fifth).

Susitna Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. As for Unalakleet, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Susitna Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 33-17 victory against Petersburg on the 1st. Unalakleet has also already played their next game, a 44-18 win against Nenana on the 31st.
