Football Game Preview: Camden Panthers vs. Timber Creek Regional Chargers

The Camden Panthers will head out to square off against the Timber Creek Regional Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Camden's defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so Timber Creek Regional's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Camden is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: Winslow Township, who was ranked fourth at the time (Camden was ranked 11th). The Panthers received a blow on Saturday as they fell 26-8 to the Eagles. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Even if they lost, Camden's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Ibn Muhammad and Jerome Foster, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-6, which was the final score in Timber Creek Regional's tilt against Willingboro on Friday.

Camden's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Timber Creek Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Camden has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Timber Creek Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 172.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Camden beat Timber Creek Regional 18-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
